Success Stories
Operation Roger has had many happy endings from all the transports we have done. If you have a success story to tell us about a pet we have helped, please send an Email to operationroger01@yahoo.com and include a photo-we would love to share it with our visitors!
The latest completed transport stories are found under Information/Success Stories. We will add the update on the pet in red below our story. The stories found here are listed by the latest completed transport number at top. If you know your pets transport number, you may quickly find it in this manner. All of these stories will eventually be segmented into groups of about twenty.
This particular section you are reading now, located under Animals/Success Stories, lists the stories by the pet's transported alphabetical name. However, within the confines of each letter, the names may not be alphabetical. Confused? Don't worry. Scroll around and you will be able to locate your pet eventually. Sorry, but this is the result of the program, not us. If the pet’s name was changed enroute or at a later date, it will not show under the new name.
If you remember the approximate date of the transport and can't find your pet's story, Email us that information and transport name. We will endeavor to find the story for you.
We are always striving to improve our website. We hope you like what you see.
SKYLAR #179
#179 SKYLAR (LabX) Little Rock, AR - Dallas, TX
SKYLAR #179, a 2 m/o 12#, female Labrador mix rescued by Stacy H in Little Rock, AR, was one of three puppies Stacy found running the streets. They were part of a litter of ten. Regretfully, Stacy said she wanted to but couldn't rescue all of them. She then contacted Debbie B of the AR Southern Dog Rescue for help in finding homes for them.
The adopter, Kelly M and her family of Arlington,TX, had already been approved for another pet. When that one fell through, Debbie quickly e-mailed Kelly a picture of Skylar and the rest, as they say, is history.
Driver Sue W was on her way out of OH through the Little Rock area toward her home in TX when Skylar came on the board. She immediately notified the co-ordinators and Debbie of her route and arranged to pick up the pup in Alexander, AR, at a small truck strop just west of Little Rock. She met with Kelly at Wal-Mart in Arlington, TX, about midnight.
Sue reports Skylar (now renamed Abbie) was fightened at first but soon curled up in a ball on the floor with her head on the gear shift boot and went sound to sleep. Enroute, they visited with Sue's brother. Sue thought Skylar would stay up with her brother while she went to bed. But, no. Skylar came into the room, put her paws up on the edge of the bed, and whined. Sue lifted her up onto the bed where Skylar promptly curled up into a ball, laid her head on Sue's ankles, and went fast asleep.
